SCHEDULE OF CLASSES 2018

CAPOEIRA CLASSES:

Students wanting to advance in Capoeira are required to attend Rodas - all rodas are free of charge.                                                                        

INTRO:  First class is FREE.  If you haven't taken Capoeira before, INTRO is where you start. 

We suggest you take 15 Intro classes before moving to Lev 1 easy pace.  There are however students that progress quite fast due to other background training, so you may speak with the Instructor and ask if you are ready to move to Lev 1  before taking 15 Intro classes.  You may take INTRO as long as you want.  And you may take Intro in conjunction with Lev 1 provided you have done the required amount of Intro classes.             

INTRO classes fees:

Drop in:  $15 or buy  8 classes for $99 (expires in 6 months).   

4 Intro classes per mth: $58.        

Unlimited Intro:  $120 per month

*Wear athletic pants and t-shirt to class.  No shoes.

LEVEL 1 and up (Adults and Teens) 

Drop in$20 or purchase packages of 4 classes, 8 classes or Unlimited. 

Option to join for 1 mth, 3 mths, 6 mths or a year.

*Students taking Lev 1 and up are required to wear an abada.  You may purchase one from us or bring the one you already have.

KIDS CLASSES (ages 5 to 12 years old):  First class is free. 

Drop in:  $15  or buy packages of 4 classes, 8 classes or Unlimited. 

Option to join for 1 mth, 3 mths, 6 mths or a year.

PRE-SCHOOLERS (ages 3 to 5 years old)

New session starts Jan 7 to Feb 11, 2019.                                                            Other sessions are:  Feb 25 to Apr 1 - Apr 8 to May 20 -  May 27 to June 1.  Further dates will be posted here.

First class: $14 or join a session of 6 classes for $69.  (No drop ins after first class trial).  You may join a class after it started provided there is space available.

SUNDAYS:  7:30 - 9:00 PM - BEGINNER BELLYDANCE                                                                                        Journey into the beautiful world of Arabic music and movement. In this progressive, full-experience course you will learn about the history and cultural context of Raqs Sharqi (bellydance), learn safe and mindful posture and alignment,  drill basic isolations and movements of this beautiful Middle Eastern art form, AND get a great workout!!  No experience required. PLEASE DO NOT MISS THE FIRST CLASS OF THE COURSE IF YOU ARE A NEW STUDENT TO RAHEL.

SUNDAYS:  5:45 - 7:15 PM - INTERMEDIATE BELLYDANCE                                                                                           Dive deeper into your Arabic dance practice and take your technique to the next level!  Strengthen and condition, learn more complex movements, work on layering, traveling, props (if time permits) and add texture and nuance to this beautiful Middle Eastern art form.  Experience required, preferably at least 2-3 beginner sessions with Rahel.                                                                   _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

TUESDAYS: 9:00 - 10:15 PM - LEARN THE ART OF BREAKIN'!                                                                          Students will understand how to freestyle within these elements of breakin'.                                          topprock - the introduction to the dance. Toprocking is done before breakers hit the floor. It generally refers to foot movement performed from a standing position.  getdowns - Movements that transitions you to the floor. floor moves- movement where you hands and feet are on the ground. Learn how to make patterns and random movements with your feet. power moves - Learn movement that really catches peoples attention. Moves like the windmill, backspin, headspin, just to name a few. These movements are the crowd pleasing ones. freezes- considered to be the exclamation point in breakdancing. Letting your body stop in a unique position. TUESDAYS:  9:45 - 11:00 AM                                                                                                                                            Learn the contract and relax technique of PNF Stretching plus other partner assisted techniques to release fascia, tight muscles and unlock your joints so you can move with ease. Techniques so effective, only one or two classes a week are recommended.  Release your hamstrings, hips, back and shoulders to improve posture, mobility and range of motion.
